Abstract Objective To observe the effects of combined application of ranolazine and amiodarone on cardiac electric stability of rat at early phase of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods 40 healthy S- D rats were randomly assigned into 4 groups: control group, ranolazine group, aminodarone group, amiodarone with ranolazine group (A- R group). AMI model was created by ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery and ECG on lead II was recorded during following 2 hours. Results The incidence of T and QRS waves electrical alternation, ventricular tachyarrhythmia and ventricular arrhythmic score in A- R group were significantly lower than that in control group (al P<0.05) and similar to that in amiodarone group. Tp- e interval, but not Q- T interval, was significantly lower in A- R group than in amiodarone group (P<0.05). Conclusion Combined application of amidarone and ranolazine can shorten Tp- e interval without increase of ventricular arrhythmia at early phase of AMI.
