Abstract Objective To investigate the activation state of peripheral lymphocyte subsets in elder with essential hypertension. Methods Peripheral lymphocyte subsets and activation state were analyzed by flow cytometry in 170 elder with essential hypertension and 50 healthy people. Results The expressions of CD3-CD19+ of B lymphocyte, CD3+CD8+CD38+ of T lymphocyte, CD3+HLA- DR+, CD3+CD8+HLA- DR+ and CD16+CD56+ of NK cel were significantly higher in elder with hypertension than in healthy person (al P<0.05). The CD3+CD8+,CD3+CD4+and CD3+CD4+CD25+of T lymphocyte were not different between them (al P>0.05). Conclusion The activation of B lymphocyte cel , NK cel and CD8+T lymphocyte increases in elder with hypertension.
