Abstract Objective To evaluate clinical value of atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) in patients with coronary heart disease(CAD). Methods 192 patients with CAD confirmed by coronary angiography were enrol ed. Coronary artery le-sion severity was determined by Gensini scale. 181 cases of healthy people were included in control group. Blood lipid parameters were measured and AIP was calculated. Results AIP was significantly higher in CAD patients 0.35 ±0.15 than in control group - 0.03 ±0.18 (P<0.01), and increased significantly from patients with mild 0.20 ±0.11 , moderate 0.32±0.10 to high 0.43±0.11 lesions(P<0.01). Conclusion AIP is correlated with the severity of coronary artery lesions and may roughly predict coronary lesions.
