Abstract Objective To investigate the effects of cryoablation of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) on quality of life and psychological status. Methods 79 patients undergoing cryoablation of AVNRT were surveyed by Short Form 36 questionnaire (SF- 36) and Symptom Check List- 90 (SCL- 90) before operation, before discharge and 1month after operation. Results SF- 36 scores for physiological functioning, role- physical, general health, social functioning and mental health were significantly higher and SCL- 90 scores for anxiety and fear were significantly lower after than before ablation (al P<0.05). The scores for role- physical, vitality, social functioning and role- emotion were significantly higher and SCL- 90 score for anxiety was significantly lower 1 month after ablation than before discharge (al P<0.05). There was no significant difference of gender main effect in SF- 36 and in SCL- 90. Conclusion Cryoablation of AVNRT may significantly improve quality of life and psychological health.
