Abstract Objective To assess the clinical value of fragmented QRS complex (fQRS) in the diagnosis of old my-ocardial infarction (OMI). Methods 127 patients with OMI were divided into groups with and without fQRS. Pathological Q-wave, frequency ventricular premature beat, ventricular tachycardia, abnormal ventricular wal motion, left ventricular ejection fraction and coronary artery stenosis (≥70%) were analyzed and compared. Results There was no significant difference of pathological Q-wave in two groups. The incidences of ventricular arrhythmia, coronary artery stenosis (≥70%), reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (≤40%) and abnormal regional wal motion were significantly different be-tween two groups. Conclusion fQRS may be used as a new electrocardiographic sign in the diagnosis of OMI.
